- Association between gut health and lung health: The gastro-intestinale and respiratory tracts are linked through a bi-directional communication system involving microorganisms in the gut, the immune system and various signalling molecules, called gut-ling axis. Disturbances in the gut such as infection, feed intake disruptions and antibiotic use can lead to a proliferation of pathgenic bactera, inflammation and increased permeability of the intestinal mucosa. This, in turn, leads to bacteria and inflammatory mediators migrating through the blood and lymphatic system to the lungs. Simply put, poor gut health has been shown to directly lead to respiratory problems. It is thus clear that respiratory health is also dependant on gut health. Immunovite, with its fulvic acid, and live probiotic bacteria Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, forms a protective film on the gastro-intestinal mucosa, has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, strengthens the gut epithelial barrier and has ant-bacterial properties.
