Stara Imperador 3.0
The Sprayer Demo Day on 18 October 2024 at Nampo

The Sprayer Demo Day on 18 October 2024 at Nampo Alfa in Bothaville provided farmers the opportunity to see spraying technology in action, specifically designed to deliver high-speed and accurate applications in the field.
The Stara Imperador 3.0 is a versatile, high-performance self-propelled sprayer and spreader designed to enhance efficiency and precision in modern agriculture. As part of Stara’s advanced line of equipment, the Imperador 3.0 has cutting-edge technology and innovative features that address both crop spraying and nutrient-spreading needs. With a dual-purpose design, it simplifies farm operations by combining two machines into one, reducing the need for separate equipment and helping farmers achieve greater productivity while minimizing costs.
The defining feature of the Imperador 3.0 is its triple functionality. It serves as both a sprayer with central booms, a spreader, and a seed spreader with the “Ponte Verde System”, enabling farmers to carry out spraying, seeding, and spreading with a single machine. This combination streamlines the workflow and reduces operational costs by eliminating the need for separate sprayers and spreaders. The dual-use design allows farmers to adapt quickly to different field requirements, saving time, improving efficiency, and providing consistent application across various farm sizes.
The Stara Boom System (SBS) is one of the standout features. It provides exceptional stability, ensuring the booms remain steady even during high-speed operations. The SBS maintains consistent application rates, allowing for faster, more efficient field coverage and minimizing the risk of application errors that can arise from boom instability. For farmers with large-scale operations, this technology allows for significant productivity gains by maximizing coverage while maintaining application accuracy.

Another advantage of the Imperador 3.0 is its central boom frame, which reduces vibration by up to 75%. This innovation enhances the precision of applications, as reduced vibration leads to more accurate chemical dispersion and consistent droplet sizes across the field. With improved stability, the Imperador 3.0 ensures high-quality application in various terrain conditions, offering reliable performance in demanding agricultural environments.
The Up and up-and-down system of the Imperador 3.0 provides an additional 40 cm of ground clearance, allowing the machine to perform late-stage applications without damaging taller crops. This increased clearance makes it possible to treat crops like corn and sugarcane at later growth stages, offering better flexibility for farmers who need to adjust their spraying or spreading schedules as crops develop.
The machine’s ground clearance ranges from 1.43 meters to 1.83 meters, offering flexibility based on crop requirements and the desired application stage. This versatility is especially advantageous for taller crops, as it prevents crop damage during late-stage applications.
The Imperador 3.0's Stara Spray System (SPS) distinguishes it from other machines. The SPS features a calibrated return system, unique to Stara, that prevents chemicals from remaining in the hoses when spray sections shut off, allowing for consistent pressure and application rates. This system ensures uniform chemical distribution and minimizes blockages, ensuring smooth operation and reliable application.
One of the most cost-saving features of the Imperador 3.0 is its sectional auto shut-off system, which provides precise control over chemical application by managing spray sections. This system prevents overlaps during spraying and reduces chemical usage by up to 5%, translating into significant savings over time. By avoiding double application on already-sprayed areas, it minimizes waste and reduces environmental impact, making it a more sustainable choice for farmers focused on optimizing resource usage.

The Imperador 3.0 is powered by a turbo engine that complies with MAR-I emission standards, reflecting Stara's commitment to environmentally friendly equipment. The machine is equipped with an electronic 220-hp Cummins turbo engine, providing ample power for demanding agricultural tasks and ensuring consistent performance even in challenging field conditions. The Imperador 3.0 also boasts a 2,400-liter solution tank and a 190-liter hydraulic oil tank, allowing for extended operation without frequent refills. Its hydraulic system includes a 4x4 hydrostatic transmission with Load Sensing technology to optimize fuel efficiency and enhance traction on slopes, making it suitable for uneven or sloped fields.
The Topper 5500 Controller and telemetry system in the Imperador 3.0 provide precision farming capabilities that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of field operations. These systems allow for real-time data monitoring, giving farmers insights into equipment performance and application data that can guide decisions. Variable rate applications can be managed through the Topper 5500, enabling precise control over spray rates and spread patterns, ultimately leading to improved yields and better resource management.
Telemetry integration allows operators to monitor machine activity remotely, track historical data, and adjust based on past performance. This data-driven approach is crucial for optimizing spraying and spreading strategies, as it enables farmers to refine their irrigation and nutrient applications over time.
The Stara Imperador 3.0 stands out as a technologically advanced and highly efficient agricultural machine, built to deliver precision and adaptability in both spraying and spreading. With features like the Stara Boom System, calibrated return spray system, and sectional auto shut-off, it ensures uniform and resource-efficient applications across large fields. The Imperador 3.0 is an investment in sustainability and productivity, allowing farmers to achieve consistent results while reducing operational costs and chemical usage. In a competitive agricultural landscape, it’s a versatile solution that aligns with modern farming practices focused on efficiency, precision, and environmental stewardship.
